The House at 3717 S.E. Lincoln St.

3717 SE Lincoln st. portland. Frank Vautier on the porch in his uniform. 1958In a period of about four years from 1957 until 1962 my mom managed to move to four places.  First she took title of the two older small houses in Walla Walla, which were subsequently demolished to make room for the hospital, then she moved to Portland, to a smaller house on Lincoln just west of 39th Ave., then to the large house on Irving St.

Finally she moved to the house at 516 S.E 17th St. in Portland which was to be the family's last move.  Here is the Lincoln house taken in 1960 with my brother Frank Vautier standing on the porch in his Army uniform.

Allegra and George Vautier lived here for a year or so in 1960. After some time the title was still so involved that she moved out on the advice of her lawyer, Mr. Oxley. All her payments were in escrow so she got it back, but after she moved out the pipes froze and caused water damage which resulted in a law suit. She was cleared of any liability.
