The Brand New Tree

Two years ago we bought this little red maple tree.  We finally took delivery--but it wasn't a little tree anymore.  I dug a huge hole in the front yard six feet across and three feet deep (into the hardpan, no less) which required a jack-hammer to break up the ground.

Delivery time.  Don't be fooled by the old weak guy with the white hair.  He wasn't so old and he wasn't weak at all.

We had to fill the hole with about a foot of dirt.
