I could remember songs on one hearing.  Before my long journey to high school and college away from family and friends Marty Robbins broke into my life with a splash.  He did it with his great composition inspired by a high school prom.  My immediate interpretation was Carthusians and not carnations since I didn't know what a carnation was and I did know what a Carthusian was.  Besides, my mother was quick to criticize such irreligious behavior and this of course gave me all the more incentive to sing about pink Carthusians.  I suppose it's possible if they stay too long at the beech.
