I suppose that when cars are made today there is not a lot of consideration given to replacing simple parts. I needed to replace my daughters headlight on her 2003 focus and it turned into an interesting experience. Since I could not see the wire spring holding the light in place it took a mirror and a cell camera picture to describe how things were working in there.
As seen in the picture there is a spring loaded wire that holds the headlight and getting it out is simple once the wire is unhooked. Putting a new light in is another problem because the wire remains in the way. To solve this problem unscrew the retaining screw almost all the way. Now you can swing the retaining wire down and out of the way and get the new bulb in.
