The Asperges Me is an antiphon and was part of the ordinary of the Mass. It is a beautiful peace and was sung just about every Sunday during the ordinary season.
The words are from Psalm 51:7.
Sprinkle me, O Lord, with Hyssop and I will be all clean. Wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Have mercy on me, Oh God, as characteristic of your fantastic mercy. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever.
