Doug was my uncle.  I don't remember much about him except that he was a very funny guy.  He could do lots of bike tricks all with one leg.

He had lost a leg when he worked for the Railroad and received a huge settlement for it.  As my mom said that's when all the girls were attracted to him, not to say that he was extremely attractive or that Frances married him for money but I suppose it did help.


Douglas had five girls; Cathleen, Julia, Geraldine, Petricia and Shila.  They owned a house in Seattle which burned down.  All the kids survived.

I was rather impressed with his educational accomplishments.
