Fr. Joseph Buck

And when I die, and when I'm gone,
There'll be one child born
In this world to carry on

I was a kid growing up at Perpetual Help School in Everett, WA.  One day we got a handsome young assistant pastor just fresh out of St. Edwards Seminary.  I think he also had two brothers Carl and James, one of which was also a priest and worked in Seattle because my mom often commented on how those Bucks did get around.  Fr. Joe Buck said the early 6:30 mass at the school and I was often the only altar boy showing up sometimes.  I definitely had to knew my Laetificats or else.  Fr. Buck was a profoundly positive influence on me whether or not he realized this or whither I did either.  His presence at the parish changed my life because I became fixated with the idea that priesthood was something that I needed to follow, which I did for awhile.

I found a good obituary here:

I last visited Joe Buck in 2001.

In my archives I found articles from the Herald that shows him talking with Dave Harbeck and Don Gilchrist.  Don was our football coach and died a few years ago.

I remember every moment of this game, in fact I made some big tackles.  We lost anyway.  But we did have a good season if you ignore all the non conference games.

I have included some other articles.
